fishing

As promised, Grandma and Papaw took Will and Ben fishing today at the lake by their house. We didn't get one bite. A bit discouraging for our first trip out. But the boys enjoyed being outside and learning to cast. We had a picnic lunch and then hung out by the lake.

Will was a very serious and dedicated fisherman.

Ben caught on really quickly to casting. His Aunt Ginger helped him learn how to do it.

We ended our day with a dinner on the back porch, watching a male and female Mallard duck who live behind my parents' house come up under the bird feeders and eat seed. The female is very pregnant, and the male was steadfastly watching over her. It was a fun thing to watch as we ate and talked.
