As reluctant as Ben was to play soccer this year, he has definitely gone after it with gusto. Ben is on the team with a little boy (the one in the blue shirt to the left) who went to my school last year. His name is Reese. Jim had taken Ben to his practices up until a week ago Saturday. When I walked up to practice with Ben, Reese walked up to us and said, "Well...this is weird." He and Ben had apparently gotten to be big buddies before Reese knew that Ben belonged to my family. They are really cute together. As is evidenced by the picture above. These three were watching their teammates play a scrimmage and all decided this was the way to watch, apparently.
Speaking of poses, this is the pose that Ben strikes most of the time during practice when he's: a.) waiting his turn to do some sort of drill or b.) listening to his coach. Where he learned this stance, I do not know. But it's heartbreakingly cute, I think.
And then, yes, this is the child who didn't want to play soccer. His first game is Friday night. We'll post more pictures then.
